Tickled Pink and Green For Growth!

The Middle School are using the assessment tool: Green for Growth and Tickled Pink. Two of the highlighters purchased in your stationary pack are used on a daily basis by students to both self assess and give buddy feedback.
A great example is our handwriting! Each student has identified a learning goal when handwriting. At the end of the lesson each student uses their 'tickled pink' highlighter to circle the letters and words where they feel they have achieved their learning goal. They then use their 'green for growth' highlighters to identify letters and words that need more practise.
Ask your child what their learning goal is for handwriting!

Room 9's Magnificent Korowai!

Room 9 has created a magnificent Korowai as our promise to each other to keep Room 9 a happy and safe place to learn. Our Korowai shows the respect in which we hold each other, our values and the way we wrap around our class as a family.
Each student designed and decorated 4 feathers for the Korowai. Each feather has a class value or expectation written on it and on one feather is each child's name or signature - showing their commitment to upholding our classroom values.

Our values are:

We look after each other.
We challenge ourselves.
We are creative.
We help each other.
We are positive.
We keep a tidy classroom.
We respect each other.
We treat each other how we like to be treated.
We are honest.
We are positive.

What a wonderful way to start the year!
